The whole course lasts three years, and covers the following topics, each of which will be applied to current issues:
Year 1: GOD AND HIS PEOPLE
- 1.1 God’s Story – the ‘big picture’ of the Bible
- 1.2 God’s Word – what is it and how we read it?
- 1.3 God’s Nature – Trinity and the character of God
- 1.4 God’s World – creation, sin, and what it means to be human
- 1.5 God’s History – the story of the church so far
Year 2 CHRIST AND THE CHURCH
- 2.1 Christ’s Person – who Jesus is and why it matters
- 2.2 Christ’s Work – how we are saved in Christ
- 2.3 Christ’s Kingdom – Jesus’ Kingdom message in the Gospels
- 2.4 Christ’s Church –the identity and purpose of the Church
- 2.5 Christ’s Life in Us – 1 Corinthians
Year 3 THE HOLY SPIRIT, DISCIPLESHIP AND MISSION
- 3.1 The Holy Spirit’s person and work – who he is, what he does
- 3.2 The Holy Spirit and Mission – Acts and the mission of Paul
- 3.3 The Holy Spirit and Lifestyle – keeping in step with the Spirit
- 3.4 The Holy Spirit and the Prophets – Old Testament Prophets
- 3.5 The Holy Spirit and the End Times – Revelation and eschatology
Dates for 2026-27
For 2026-27, we will be offering Year 1 and Year 2.
The five teaching days are as follows:
- Saturday 19th September 2026
- Saturday 21st November 2026
- Saturday 16th January 2027
- Saturday 20th March 2027
- Saturday 15th May 2027
Each day runs from 9am to 4pm, with lunch included.
Tutorials are arranged separately between each teaching day.
